What is Sacramento Cannon: A Maritime Tragedy about?

The document describes the history of the Sacramento Cannon located on a beach in South Africa. It was part of the cargo of the Portuguese galleon Sacramento that wrecked off the coast in 1647 during a storm. Of the 272 people on board, only 72 survived the sinking but nine ultimately survived the 1,300 km journey on foot to Mozambique. In 1977 two men salvaged the cannon and other artifacts from the wreck site, preserving a piece of history from the 17th century shipwreck.
