What is Edward Jenner about?

Jenner developed the smallpox vaccine after observing that milkmaids who had been exposed to cowpox did not contract the deadly smallpox disease. He conducted an experiment in 1796 where he infected a boy, James Phipps, with pus from a milkmaid with cowpox. When later exposed to smallpox, Phipps was found to be immune, demonstrating that cowpox provided protection against smallpox. Jenner
