What is Taking Her: Cinnamon Roll Saviors about?

OCEAN My parents died three years ago next week, and I still don’t know how I feel about it. I loved them, respected them, but refused their wealth at every turn. Their money never felt like my own, even though I was raised with it and benefited from it growing up. I never intended to live the way they did. Entombed in a mansion, held hostage by societal commitments and the expectations of our community. I became an EMT fresh out of college because I wanted to help people and find my way in the world. But since they died, my way’s been hijacked. My future is now in direct parallel with my mother and father’s lives. Sucks for me. I gaze out the window of my Porsche Cayenne, listening to the constant patter of rain on the windshield. My grip is easy on the steering wheel, my mind finding a temporary peace as I drive through the deserted streets of Indigo Falls. It’s well past midnight. The air is fresh and invigorating, and I savor every moment. I turn up the volume on my satellite radio, waiting for an easy alternative-rock music to drown out the dreariness of the fundraising season, but I hear this instead.
