About this document

Nitric Oxide and Haloperidol Supersensitivity by Lonkes is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study examined the role of nitric oxide in the development of haloperidol-induced supersensitivity. Rats were pretreated with either saline or the nitric oxide inhibitor L-NAME during chronic haloperidol treatment. Rats pretreated with L-NAME showed significantly less cocaine-stimulated locomotion after haloperidol treatment than rats pretreated with saline, suggesting that nitric oxide is involved in haloperidol-induced supersensitivity. Inhibiting nitric oxide synthesis may decrease side effects of l
