What is Tozinameran: Autoimmune encephalitis: 1 case report about?
Autoimmune encephalitis: 1 case report A 14-year-old girl developed autoimmune encephalitis after receiving tozinameran for immunisation against COVID-19. The girl brought to a emergency department due to seizure. She developed a fever and headache 5 days before the presentation of the seizure, followed by diarrhoea. She gradually became apathetic and developed mutism the day before the presentation. Her past medical history was unremarkable, except for COVID-19, which she had contracted 95 days before the presentation. She received her third dose of tozinameran [BNT162b2] 19 days before the presentation [dosage and route not stated]. At the emergency department, her body temperature was 37.4°C, BP was 145/91 mmHg, heart rate was 130 beats/minute, respiratory rate was 26 breaths/minute, oxygen saturation was 99% on room air, and Glasgow Coma Scale was 9 (E4V1M4). Her neck was stiff and positive Kernig's sign was noted. Blood glucose and electrolytes were within the normal range. Serum asparate transaminase, alanine transaminase, lactate dehydrogenase and CRP were elevated. Serum creatine kinase was elevated but the CK-myocardial band isoenzyme level was within the normal range. D-d
