About this document

Brain Tumor Pathophysiology Overview by nories_1 is a document available to read on EtoBox.

A brain tumor develops from risk factors such as genetic tendencies, immunosuppression, environmental exposures, and being male which can lead to abnormal cell growth that forms a mass. This mass can compress and alter blood flow in the brain causing ischemia, necrosis, cerebral edema, and increased intracranial pressure which can lead to herniation of the brain and neurological deficits specific to the area of involvement.
