What is Climbing the K2: Kreutzer Etude #2 (Master the Classics!) about?

There are no shortcuts to becoming a great musician, but there are ways to speed up the learning curve. Guitar players have a variety of areas to work on in their development -- alternate picking, ear training, theory, melodic contour, and more. You can find practice materials that address each of those areas separately, but there are many great classical pieces that address all of them simultaneously. The 42 Kreutzer Etudes for Violin contain many examples of that principle, and many of the Etudes can be adapted to benefit guitarists of all levels and styles. Dan Green, founder of the popular instructional site Purple Tiger Guitar, has taken the most well-known of the Kreutzer Etudes, #2 (famously quoted in Van Halen’s “Eruption”), and created an instructional book that will enhance your technique and musicality, training your fingers and ears at the same time. Dan has transcribed and played dozens of classical pieces for 20 years now, and the first volume of the Master the Classics series, "Climbing the K2," provides a wealth of material to add to your repertoire and accelerate your development as a player. All for much less than the price of a single guitar lesson! Contains:Comp
