Application of positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy to a study of N-benzoyl-N-phenyl hydroxylamine associations in solution by J.C. Machado; W.F. Magalhaes; A. Marques Netto; J.Ch. Abbé; G. Duplâtre is a Physics and Astronomy article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Application of positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy to a study of N-benzoyl-N-phenyl hydroxylamine associations in solution about?

Positron lifetime (LS) and IR spectroscopies have been used to study solutions of N-benzoyl-N-phenyl hydroxylamme in various solvents. The LS results show an inhibition ofpositronium formation, but no quenching effect by the solute. A total inhibition process together with solute dimerisation can account for the concentration dependence of the ortho-positronium intensity. The other techniques corroborate this hypothesis. This work shows that positrons are suitable probes to study intermolecular association processes
