Juan Felipe Nakpil and Juan Marcos Arellano were two of the most prominent Filipino architects in the early 20th century. Nakpil designed many churches and theaters in Manila. Arellano designed several important government buildings in Manila and other Philippine cities, including the Legislative Building, Manila Central Post Office, and provincial capitol buildings in Negros Occidental and Cebu. Both architects studied abroad and incorporated different styles like Beaux Arts and Art Deco into their works.
