What is Understanding SIADH: Symptoms & Management about?
The syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) is a condition characterized by excess water retention and low sodium in the blood due to abnormal signals in the body. Laboratory findings that help diagnose SIADH include low sodium and osmolality levels in the blood as well as high urine sodium and normal renal and adrenal function. Treatment involves fluid restriction and, for severe cases, intravenous saline or vasopressin receptor antagonists like conivaptan to raise sodium levels in the blood
