The EPA finalized rules expanding its Mandatory GHG Reporting Rule to the oil and gas industry. The new reporting rule requires facilities in oil and natural gas production, processing, transmission, storage and import/export with emissions over 25,000 metric tons of CO2e per year to report emissions of methane, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide from equipment leaks, venting, flaring and combustion.
