Can I read Bacteriological eutrophication indicators in four Colombian water bodies (South America) on EtoBox?

Bacteriological eutrophication indicators in four Colombian water bodies (South America) by Amparo Canosa; Gabriel Pinilla is a Environmental Science article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Bacteriological eutrophication indicators in four Colombian water bodies (South America) about?

For the first time in Colombia the relative abundance of __Pseudomonas__ spp., __Vibrio__ spp., __Plesiomonas shigelloides__, the __Aeromonas hydrophila__ group, and the faecal and total coliforms were studied in three dams and a natural lagoon with a different trophic state. Coliforms were low in all the water bodies, but their number was greater in the dams with a greater anthropic activity. __Vibrio__ spp. was not detected. The density of __P. shigelloides__ was irregular. __Pseudomonas__ spp. was always present and showed relatively high abundance. The bacteria of the __A. hydrophila__ group were constant and their numbers increased with the trophic state, for which they could be indicators of the eutrophication phenomena. Significant correlation (__P__ < 0.05) was established between total and faecal coliforms and pH, transparency, nitrites, nitrates, and orthophosphates. __P. shigelloides__ was correlated with faecal coliforms and __Aeromonas hydrophila__ with total coliforms and transparency.
