What is Unang Yakap Program Overview about?
The Unang Yakap 4&5 program is a campaign by the Philippines Department of Health, in cooperation with WHO, to adopt Essential Intrapartum and Newborn Care (EINC) standards for birthing mothers and newborns. The DOH began a hospital-based initiative in 2009 to change childbirth practices to EINC standards. This was piloted in 11 hospitals.
