The petitioners, Dr. Jarcia and Dr. Bastan, were found liable for damages for their neglect of professional duty which caused serious injuries to a patient, Roy Jr. Roy Jr. was hit by a taxi and brought to the hospital, where Dr. Jarcia did an x-ray of the ankle and found no fracture. Dr. Bastan then examined Roy Jr. and said there was no need to examine the upper leg since only the ankle was hit.
