The 2000 HSC Code will apply to High-Speed Craft engaged in international voyages. It is expected to become mandatory under the same SOLAS chapter upon entry into force, on 1 JULY 2002, of relevant amendments to the Annex to the 1974 SOLAS Convention. The present Code was prepared taking into account experience gained with the application of the 1994 HSC Code since it entered into force in 1996.
