Subchronic administration of haloperidol in rats decreased locomotion and elicited cataleptic responses. When challenged with 8-OH-DPAT, a 5-HT1A receptor agonist, haloperidol-treated rats showed smaller increases in hyperlocomotion and forepaw treading but greater expressions of flat body posture, hind limb abduction, and straub tail compared to saline-treated rats.
