Effects of NO2 on photovoltaic performance of phthalocyanine thin film solar cells by Rudiono; Shuichi Okazaki; Manabu Takeuchi is a Engineering article available to read on EtoBox.
What is Effects of NO2 on photovoltaic performance of phthalocyanine thin film solar cells about?
Three kinds of phthalocyanine Pc thin film solar cells, i.e. ITOrPcrAl, ITOrPcrIn and AlrPcrAu were fabricated and effects of NO gas on their photovoltaic performance were investigated. The introduction of NO gas was confirmed to 2 2 influence the electronic behavior of the cells both in darkness and under illumination. Adsorbed NO gas was suggested to 2 work as an electron acceptor for Pc and improved the photovoltaic performance. However, chemical reaction between the metal electrode and NO formed some oxide and deteriorated the Schottky barrier, resulting in an increase in cell resistivity. 2 The cell deterioration was delayed somewhat in ITOrPcrIn cells, since the electrode indium has higher oxidation resistance than aluminum. The cell of AlrPcrAu structure may utilize sufficiently both photovoltaic and NO gas adsorption effects. 2
