An old woman who loves baking gingerbread lives on a farm with her husband. She bakes gingerbread cookies, cakes, houses, and people that the neighborhood children enjoy eating. However, the children eat the treats so quickly that the woman has trouble keeping her supplies stocked. One day, while baking a batch of gingerbread men, she runs out of batter and the last gingerbread man is only half the size of the others. She decorates him extra nicely to make up for his small size.
