This study evaluates the aortic balloon occlusion technique in total arch replacement (TAR) with frozen elephant trunk (FET) after prior thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) in 30 patients. Results indicate that the balloon occlusion technique significantly reduced cardiopulmonary bypass and hypothermic circulatory arrest times compared to the conventional method, with no significant differences in major adverse events or mortality rates between the two groups.
