About this document

Floral Development in Cedreleae Tribe by Manikandan Ramanathan is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document describes a study of floral development in the plant genera Cedrela and Toona, which comprise the basal tribe Cedreleae of the plant family Meliaceae. Twelve stages of floral development were identified for both genera. The initial development of the pentamerous flowers of Cedrela and Toona is very similar, with morphological differences emerging later due to differences in organ elongation and connection. Functionally male and female flowers form in specific positions within the inflorescence
