What is Chadwick about?

Chadwick conducted an experiment in 1932 where he bombarded a beryllium target with alpha particles. This produced uncharged particles that had the same mass as protons. When these particles interacted with paraffin wax, they ejected protons but were not deflected themselves, showing they had no charge. Through energy calculations, Chadwick determined these particles were neutrons. His discovery of neutrons helped reveal that atomic nuclei contain both protons and neutrons.
