After a short survey of the knowledges we have to day about the pathogenesis of acrodermatitis enteropathica we report on investigations of tryptophan and tyrosine metabolism in 3 own patients. After having given tryptophan in acrodermatitis enteropathiea an increased excretion of tryptophan and a decreased excretion of kynurenine could be measured in the urine. When tyrosine is applied an increased tyrosine level can be found in plasma from the second to the fourth hour. These findings are discussed in relation to the clinical picture of the disease and a possibly existing lacking oxydative destruction of the amino acids in the ]iver is suggested. Zusammen/assung. Nach kurzer Darstellung der bisherigen Kenntnisse fiber die Pathogenese der Acrodermatitis enteropathica wird an Hand yon drei eigenen Beobachtungen fiber Untersuchungen des Tryptophanund Tyrosinstoffwechsels berichtet, l~ach Tryptophanbe]astung konnte bei der Aerodermatitis enteropathica eine vermehrte Tryptophanausscheidung und verminderte Kynureninausscheidung im Urin gemessen werden.
