About this document

mRNA Transport from Nucleus to Cytoplasm by Umar Khitab is a document available to read on EtoBox.

1. Mature mRNAs must be transported from the nucleus to the cytoplasm for translation in eukaryotic cells. 2. mRNAs are exported from the nucleus as RNA-protein complexes (mRNPs) through nuclear pore complexes (NPCs). 3. The mRNP exporter, a heterodimer of NXF1 and NXT1, binds to the mRNP and facilitates its transport through the NPC by interacting with FG nucleoporins lining the central channel.
