This study examined changes in pharyngeal airway space and head posture after mandibular setback surgery for patients with mandibular prognathism. Serial lateral cephalograms were taken before and after surgery to measure changes in mandibular position, hyoid bone position, head posture, tongue position, and pharyngeal airway dimensions. The results found that after surgery the mandible and hyoid bone were set back, the hyoid bone moved inferiorly, the tongue depth increased, and the pharyngeal airway space
