Thousands of people lined up in long queues under the sweltering heat to pay their respects to Mr Lee at Parliament House and Empress Place on Thursday 26 March 2015. The massive line formed at noon from the underpass leading to Clarke Quay from Parliament House and snaked all the way to the Padang by 7pm. As night fell, people remained in the queue at Empress Place hoping to honor Mr Lee.
