What is 5G Data Rates and Latency Improvements about?

The 5G network provides peak data rates of 100 Mbps for downloads and 50 Mbps for uploads using 20 MHz bandwidth with 1 transmitting and 2 receiving antennas per user equipment. It aims to reduce control plane latency to less than 100 ms for idle to active transitions and less than 50 ms for dormant to active transitions, as well as reduce user plane latency to less than 5 ms for small IP packets in unload conditions. 5G also promises significantly improved throughput and spectrum efficiency of 2 to 4 times
