What is Provisional Data on Broad Money M2 about?

Broad money (M2) in Pakistan increased by 12.46% in FY 2010 compared to an increase of 9.56% in FY 2009. The main components contributing to the increase in M2 were a growth in total demand and time deposits of 494.799 billion rupees and an increase in currency in circulation of 143.212 billion rupees. Government borrowing from the banking system, including the State Bank of Pakistan and scheduled banks, increased by 304.563 billion rupees to finance the budget.
