Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is a system approach to manufacturing that uses computers to manage the entire production process. CIM integrates all of the facilities and functions of a production system through the use of interactive computer systems in order to create a more automated system with less human intervention required. The goal of CIM is to increase productivity by reducing costs and waste while improving quality and flexibility.
