About this document

Air/Fuel Ratio Effects on Engine Emissions by Joydip Choudhury is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The experiment aims to study the effect of air/fuel ratio on thermal efficiency and emissions of a spark ignition engine. Measurements were taken of exhaust gases like CO, HC, CO2, O2, and NO at different air/fuel ratios ranging from 18 to 11. The results show that HC emissions are highest for rich mixtures while CO increases with leaner mixtures. NOx is highest near the stoichiometric ratio where combustion temperatures are also highest. Proper air/fuel ratio is needed to minimize emissions and optimize en
