About this document

Coconut Shell Ash in Concrete Durability by Jose Karl Jr. Cataytay Apas is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Garba et al. (2019) studied the effects of coconut shell ash (CSA) as an admixture in concrete, finding that CSA enhances compressive and splitting tensile strengths, with an optimal addition of 2% to maintain strength above 25N/mm2. The chemical composition of CSA revealed high levels of silicon dioxide and other oxides. Additionally, CSA slightly increased water absorption and improved resistance to acidic solutions compared to normal concrete.
