Observations on annealed zirconium foils by transmission electron microscopy reveal that dislocations can be induced to move in zirconium by increasing the intensity of illumination above that normally used in the microscope. The moving dislocations leave behind pronounced dislocation traces and interactions between the dislocation traces were observed in a large number of cases. Dislocation movement occurred on many different planes but in the majority of cases it occurred on the prismatic planes.
