This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of chronic coffee consumption on blood pressure (BP) and hypertension development through randomized controlled trials and cohort studies. The findings indicated low-quality evidence showing no statistically significant effect of coffee on BP or hypertension risk, with a pooled risk ratio of 1.03 for developing hypertension. Consequently, no recommendations can be made regarding coffee consumption in relation to BP and hypertension.
