Leonardo Pisano, also known as Fibonacci, was an influential Italian mathematician from Pisa in the late 12th/early 13th century. He is most famous for introducing Arabic numerals and Hindu-Arabic decimal place value system to Western Europe through his book Liber Abaci. The book included many mathematical topics and problems, most notably the "rabbit problem" which defined the Fibonacci sequence where each term is the sum of the previous two terms.
