About this document
The History of Fish and Chips in the UK by Natalia Agudelo Meneses is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Fish and chips is a famous British dish consisting of fried fish and chips served together. There are about 10,500 fish and chip shops (chippies) in the UK, with every village having at least one. People say the best fish and chips can be found in seaside towns. The fish is deep fried in batter for about six minutes and served wrapped in newspaper with salt and vinegar and sometimes mushy peas. The dish originated in the 1860s when a Jewish immigrant, Joseph Malin, opened the first fish shop in London.
