What is EARI 2017: Art Education Insights about?

The document summarizes a book by Ana Mae Barbosa that advocates for a triangular approach to art education that includes appreciating, contextualizing, and interpreting works of art. Barbosa argues that artistic education should provide a historical and critical understanding of art and not be limited to emotional catharsis. She promotes giving voice to minorities and alternative perspectives from the Global South.
