What is Water Level about?

This study investigates the influence of water level on the biomass of the macrophyte Echinochloa polystachya in the Jurumirim Reservoir, Brazil, over a year from August 1993 to July 1994. The results show a unimodal seasonal variation in biomass, peaking from November 1993 to April 1994, with an average biomass of 1,933.7 gDW.m–2. The findings indicate that E. polystachya is well adapted to fluctuations in water levels, with significant growth occurring during the rainy season.
