What is Understanding Sexagesimal Fractions about?

The document discusses converting fractions to sexagesimal notation, which expresses numbers as sums involving powers of 60. It provides examples of converting several fractions, such as 1/4, 1/8, and 0.028. The process involves repeatedly dividing the fraction by 60 and recording the quotient and remainder at each step until reaching a remainder of 0. This allows writing the fraction as a sum involving different powers of 60, analogous to how whole numbers are written in sexagesimal notation.
