About this document

Cellular Respiration Overview and ATP by DASH is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Cellular respiration involves three main stages - glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain. It occurs in the cytoplasm and mitochondria and releases energy from glucose in the form of ATP. Glycolysis splits glucose into pyruvate, producing 2 ATP and 2 NADH. The Krebs cycle further oxidizes pyruvate in the mitochondria, producing 2 ATP, 6 NADH, and 2 FADH2. The electron transport chain uses oxygen to produce 34 ATP by shuttling electrons from NADH and FADH2 down the chain through chemios
