About this document

Centelloside Production in C. asiatica Cultures by Marlon Rivera is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document summarizes a study that investigated the effects of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) elicitation on the production of centellosides and phytosterols in Centella asiatica cell suspension cultures. Cell cultures were treated with two concentrations of MeJA (100 and 200 μM) and analyzed over 30 days. The maximum centelloside production of 1.11 mg/g dry weight occurred at day 15 in the 100 μM MeJA-elicited cultures. MeJA elicitation increased expression of the β-amyrin synthase gene involved in centellosid
