This study focuses on the development of carrageenan-based films enriched with Chinese hawthorn extract to enhance the shelf life of fresh strawberries. The films were characterized for their mechanical, physical, and barrier properties, revealing that lower concentrations of hawthorn extract improved antioxidant activity while higher concentrations negatively affected barrier properties. The findings suggest that these biodegradable films could serve as a sustainable packaging solution for perishable foods
