What is Candima Sutta: Moon Deity about?

The Candimasutta tells the story of Candima, the moon deity, who was seized by Rahu, the lord of asuras. Distressed, Candima went to the Buddha for refuge and recited a stanza asking for protection. The Buddha then addressed Rahu in a stanza, asking him to release Candima as he had taken refuge in the Buddha. Rahu released Candima and went before Vepacitti trembling, explaining that he released Candima because the Buddha spoke to him in a stanza.
