About this document

Tectonic Inversion in Chañarcillo Basin by rodolfo is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This article discusses the structure of the Chañarcillo Basin in northern Chile, which formed as an extensional basin during the Early Cretaceous period. The folding style along the eastern side of the basin reveals an architecture consisting of a northeast-trending anticline called the "Tierra Amarilla Anticlinorium", associated with the inversion of the Elisa de Bordos Fault. Balanced cross sections show that a partially inverted "domino-style" half-graben best reproduces the observed surface deformation.
