What is Shrek and Donkey about?

In this scene from Shrek, villagers attempt to capture Shrek, believing he is a threat, but he frightens them away with his roar. The next day, fairy tale creatures are rounded up by guards and turned in for rewards, while Donkey, who is captured, desperately seeks to avoid being turned in.
