The groundbreaking ceremony for the WNY Hispanic-American Veterans Memorial was held on November 11, 2011 at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval Park. Over 200 community members, veterans, and elected officials attended the event. The memorial will be the first of its kind in the region honoring past, present, and future Hispanic American veterans from Western New York. It will recognize the Gabriel A.
