A pilot study tested the High Density Sludge (HDS) process for treating acid mine drainage from the Britannia Mine in Britannia Beach, BC. The study objectives were to produce a sludge with over 12% solids content using lime neutralization and to test using combustion ash from a nearby pulp mill as the neutralizing agent.
