What is The Miracle of Salta about?
The document tells the story of how in 1592 two boxes containing religious images of Christ and the Virgin Mary floated to Peru. They were forgotten for 100 years in a church in Salta until in 1962, during an earthquake, they miraculously appeared to protect the people. A priest heard that the image of Christ should be taken out in procession to stop the tremors. Since then, they are known as the Lord and the Virgin of the Miracle and every September 15th.
