What is Dark Choices and Consequences about?

The story begins with the narrator reflecting on a past wrongdoing against a young woman. As a child, he was abandoned and forced to resort to crime out of hunger. He is now a feared criminal known as Badsha Bhai, but is haunted by memories of his past actions. While being chased by police during a robbery, he broke into a house and assaulted the woman living there. He has been tormented by guilt ever since and wonders what became of the woman after that night.
