About this document
Risk Factors for NSDs After BSSO Surgery by Camila Castiblanco is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates risk factors for neurosensory disturbances (NSDs) one year after bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) in 237 patients. Significant predictors identified include advanced age, a close distance between the mandibular canal and cortical bone, and intraoperative exposure of the inferior alveolar nerve. The findings suggest that careful management is required for high-risk cases to minimize long-term NSDs.
