What is Introduction to this Issue about?
Our previous issue of TACCESS contained five articles that were also based on extended conference papers from ASSETS'16; this article is presented here as an addendum. This manuscript underwent a full review process; the journal editors thank the reviewers for the journal who contributed their time and expertise to this process. The article is entitled "Visually Augmented Audio-tactile Graphics for Visually Impaired People." It describes a novel system for producing tactile graphics with auditory feedback based on 3D-printed materials overlaid on smartphones or tablet computers. The authors present a case study with a prototype of their technology used to present maps in a study with participants with visual impairments. Following this article, we are pleased to present several additional articles that were reviewed and accepted to the journal through its regular submission process.
