About this document

Intelligent Street Lighting with Arduino by Sherry Sher is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document describes an intelligent street light system using Arduino UNO that automatically switches street lights on and off based on vehicle presence to save energy. The system uses a light dependent resistor (LDR) to detect day/night and photoelectric sensors to detect vehicle movement. When no vehicles are present, lights in that area are switched off, and switched on when vehicles arrive. This is estimated to save up to 65% of energy compared to conventional systems that leave lights on all night.
